Introduction

Since its early inception in 1908 as a nucleus of Egypt's first non-governmental university, the mission of the Faculty of Arts has been the advancement of  human thinking and the promotion, development and refinement of research and studies in the humanities and social sciences. This aspiring vision was founded on the principle that a sustained academic discourse between the various fields of human knowledge in both the literary and social domains is undoubtedly the cornerstone of any society that seeks to foster learning and enhance the quality of life.
